POLICE OFFICER – FIREFIGHTER

|1990|

The Downey Police & Fire Foundation (DPFF) is a non-profit organization providing assistance to police and fire employees during times of unexpected financial hardship or emergency medical needs.  Created as a result of the 1990 PACE Warehouse robbery shootout where two officers were wounded and where Downey Firefighters risked their own lives to render aid, the Foundation has been a “safety net” for more than 25 years.

Additionally, the Foundation annually awards the Wayne R. Presley Memorial Scholarship for furthering education; sponsors an Annual DPFF Golf Tournament; and honors one police officer and one firefighter each year at the DPFF Awards Luncheon.
